Throughout the course of the fight then 10 animated halberds maybe did 20 damage to the cleric, combined. Cleric reaches the top flying past the freefalling bard and strikes the heart. Bard fails his saving throw and starts PLUMMETTING from 190 feet up (I have no idea if that's how high the heart is I just kinda pulled a number out of my ass). The bard beats him to the top but is jumpscared by Strahd who cast Hold Person on him (I tweaked a lot of spell lists to help my enemies keep up with a party of 5 because action economy do be insane with these MFers). The artificer cast Fly on the cleric so he and the bard (who took the dark gift of flight from the Amber Temple) could reach the top faster. The cleric starts trudging up the stairs, and the encounter begins.
They stumbled upon the secret ladder in the servants' quarters and found themselves at the bottom of a big fuckin tower, and suddenly they hear a slow heartbeat echoing throughout (playing on a loop in Foundry).
And boy what an intense encounter it was.
